Terms of Service

Article 1. Purpose

These Terms govern the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of 자린이와 고비들 ("the Provider") and users with respect to the iOS/iPadOS money-tracking app Zarinegobi (자린이와 고비) ("the Service").

Article 2. Definitions

  1. "Service" means the Zarinegobi app distributed by the Provider through the App Store and all related ancillary features.
  2. "User" means a person who agrees to these Terms, downloads the Service from the App Store, and uses it.
  3. "Ad-free In-App Purchase" means a paid item that removes in-app ads, purchased through Apple In-App Purchase ("IAP").
  4. "Content" means all copyrightable works shown in the Service, including text, images, icons, characters, and UI.

Article 3. Effect and amendment of these Terms

  1. These Terms take effect when a user installs and begins using the Service.
  2. The Provider may amend these Terms within the bounds of applicable law and will post any amendment on this page or announce it in-app.
  3. Users who do not agree to an amendment may stop using the Service and uninstall the app. Continued use after notice of the amendment constitutes acceptance.

Article 4. The Service

  1. The Provider offers the following features:
    • Entry and review of income, spend, memos, and categories
    • Monthly/weekly/category statistics and spending-goal management
    • Home-screen and Lock Screen widgets
    • Cross-device sync via the user's Apple iCloud
  2. The Service is, in principle, provided free of charge, with ads shown on certain screens via Google AdMob. Ad revenue funds the operation and maintenance of the Service.
  3. Users may purchase the Ad-free In-App Purchase via Apple IAP, after which in-app ads will not be displayed.

Article 5. User obligations

  1. Users must use the Service in accordance with applicable law, these Terms, and the Service's usage guidance.
  2. Users shall not:
    • reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service;
    • interfere with the normal operation of the Service or circumvent its security;
    • generate or manipulate data at scale using automated means;
    • infringe the rights of others or violate any law.

Article 6. Suspension and modification of the Service

  1. The Provider may modify or suspend all or part of the Service for technical changes, maintenance, or bug fixes.
  2. The Provider may permanently discontinue all or part of the Service, providing advance notice where reasonably possible; notice may be given after the fact in case of force majeure.

Article 7. Payments and refunds

  1. Payment for the Ad-free In-App Purchase is processed through Apple IAP; currency, price, and payment methods follow App Store policy.
  2. Cancellation and refund of IAP follow Apple's refund policy. Refund requests must be submitted via Apple's Report a Problem (reportaproblem.apple.com); the Provider does not process refunds directly.
  3. Rights in a purchased ad-free item belong to the Apple account used for the purchase and may be restored on the user's devices that use the same Apple account via "Restore Purchases."

Article 8. Disclaimers

  1. The Provider is not liable for Service interruptions caused by force majeure, including natural disasters, war, communication outages, or outages of Apple iCloud or Google services.
  2. The Provider is not liable for data loss or sync failures resulting from device faults, iOS updates, or user configuration changes. Users are responsible for backing up important data.
  3. The content of ads shown via AdMob and the products/services of advertisers are the responsibility of the respective advertisers; the Provider assumes no liability for them.
  4. Any statistics or analytics shown in the Service are for reference only in the user's financial decisions; the Provider does not guarantee their accuracy or completeness.

Article 9. Intellectual property

  1. All intellectual property rights in the Service's software, design, icons, characters (including Gobi), trademarks, UI, and other Content belong to the Provider.
  2. Ownership of ledger data entered by users in the Service belongs to the user; the Provider does not access that data.
  3. Users may not copy, distribute, publicly transmit, modify, lease, or sell the Service or its Content without prior written consent from the Provider.

Article 10. Privacy

The Provider handles user privacy with care; specific practices follow the Privacy Policy.

Article 11. Dispute resolution and governing court

  1. These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea.
  2. Any dispute between the Provider and a user arising out of the Service shall, in principle, be resolved by mutual consultation.
  3. If consultation fails, the Seoul Central District Court shall have jurisdiction as the court of first instance.

Article 12. Miscellaneous

Matters not specified in these Terms shall be governed by applicable laws and the respective policies of the App Store, Apple IAP, and Google AdMob.
